Facial Feminization Surgery – Before and After

This patient underwent the following procedures as part of Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS).
– Type 3 brow bone reduction, orbital contouring, brow lift
– Genioplasty, and jaw contouring

Type 3 brow bone reduction – This patient had a prominent brow ridge, which was particularly evident in the lateral views. The brow bone reduction helped transform the forehead by eliminating the central prominence and creating a smoother, more rounded contour that extends from the upper forehead down to the nose.
Orbital contouring – Orbital contouring was performed to address the shape and projection of the area around the eyes. This is best appreciated in three-quarter views.
Brow lift – The brow lift procedure produced subtle results that are most apparent in the front-facing view.
Chin and jaw reduction – The chin and jaw reduction results are best observed in front view. In this view, one can see the previous squareness of the chin has been softened, resulting in a more feminine contour. Additionally, the angles of the jaw have been reduced, resulting in a rounder lower face. The gentle contours of the angles are also visible from the lateral views with the patient’s head in a neutral position and with the patient’s head tilted back.
Adam’s apple – The patient underwent tracheal shave with another surgeon prior to presenting to Dr. Mittermiller. A secondary tracheal shave was performed by Dr. Mittermiller after both sets of photos were taken. The throat area in these photos reflects the outcome from the prior surgeon.
