Facial Masculinization Surgery (FMS) Before and After Photographs

These before and after photographs of a strengthening genioplasty demonstrate some of the key priorities that one often hopes to accomplish with a masculinizing genioplasty. This type of genioplasty is often used in FMS (Facial Masculinization Surgery).

In this case, the patient wanted a larger, more masculine chin and did not want a chin implant. This was achieved with an osseous genioplasty that involved advancing the chin and moving it downwards. A cadaveric bone graft segment was used to further strenghten the chin segment and maintain the positioning.
