Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) Before and After Photographs

These before and after photographs of a type 3 brow bone reduction by Dr. Mittermiller demonstrate some of the key priorities that one often hopes to accomplish with this procedure. This procedure is performed as part of FFS (Facial Feminization Surgery).

A brow bone reduction reduces the brow prominence over the eyes. A masculine brow has a low, prominent brow ridge, whereas a feminine brow has a smooth contour with a higher curvature. This patient had a type 3 brow bone reduction to reduce the projection of the brow ridge and to create a smoother transition from the top of the forehead to the radix of the nose. This contributes to an overall more feminine appearance.

Dr. Mittermiller’s approach to facial feminization surgery is to create a result that appears feminine and natural. These before after photos allow people to see what type of results can be obtained after undergoing various procedures. Every person’s face and goals are different, so it is important to discuss your specific situation and expectations with your surgeon.
