Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) Before and After Photographs

These before and after photographs of a type 3 brow bone reduction and feminizing rhinoplasty by Dr. Mittermiller demonstrate some of the key priorities that one often hopes to accomplish with a brow bone feminization surgery and nose feminization surgery. These operations are often used in FFS (Facial Feminization Surgery).

Brow bone – The patient had a soft contour to her brow bone prior to the operation. However, it was still overly prominent, resulting in deep-set eyes and a less feminine appearance. The prominence was moved backwards, allowing for a gentler slope from the forehead down into the nose.

Nose – The patient had a slight dorsal bump prior to the operation with a round, poorly-defined nasal tip. The rhinoplasty reduced the dorsal bump while providing increased definition to the nasal tip and a slight increase in nasal tip rotation.

Dr. Mittermiller’s approach to facial feminization surgery is to create a result that appears feminine and natural. These before after photos allow people to see what type of results can be obtained after undergoing various procedures. Every person’s face and goals are different, so it is important to discuss your specific situation and expectations with your surgeon.
